I am a painter of pictures.
It’s my clear intention to have these pictures take the viewer to a tale or a new fable that they have not known about, before.
I try to take them to places that have their own sounds, their own smells, their own natural forces and relatable characters.
These are the places where senses and events become imagination.
Here, the viewer is given the opportunity to develop their own story.

My paintings are often referred to as being Surreal. I accept that.
To me, Surrealism has always meant the expression of the mystery of thought.
The techniques employed in Surreal painting have always been used to reveal to the viewer, the world of their own sub-conscious.

It is wonder and imagination that creates reality. It is the unconscious made real.
The mysterious, usual.
If my paintings help the viewer to think, not about why I’ve painted the picture that I have painted, but of something they’ve not quite imagined on their own before,
then the work is successful.
