The group has been an independent group for over 10 years now though we continue to work with the Watchung Arts Center in their exhibitions area. What makes the NAG unique is that it is a group of artists unified by intent rather than style.[/vc_column_text][concept_button_formats concept_color=”btn-black” concept_link=”url:%23|title:Read%20More|”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]The New Art Group’s shows have been reviewed by the New York Times, the Star Ledger, the Courier News, the Trenton Times and numerous other publications.  More than 20 artists have been members of the group and two of the original people still remain in the group. One of the ideas that hold the group together is that each show is themed and has a central idea or focus. This brings different views to each show rather than just a random collection of art. We also support the exhibition of other New York and New Jersey based artists through a variety of exhibition opportunities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][concept_headlines concept_title=”New Art Group artists” concept_center=” text-left” concept_subtitle=”The current members of the group” css=”.vc_custom_1467767828396{margin-bottom: 80px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1457795774072{margin-bottom: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/3″][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Susan Ahlstrom” concept_job=”Environmental Sculpture” concept_image=”515″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/susan.ahlstrom.14″ concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fsusanahlstrom.com%2F|title:Susan%20Alhstrom|”][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Nancy Ori” concept_job=”Photography” concept_image=”513″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/nancy.ori.5″ concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nancyorifineart.com%2F|title:Nancy%20Ori|” concept_linkedin=”https://www.linkedin.com/in/nancyori”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Francesca Azzara” concept_job=”Encaustics” concept_image=”518″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/francesca.azzara?fref=ts” concept_instagram=”https://www.instagram.com/francescaazzara/” concept_youtube=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHNLK7lAtj4″ concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.francescaazzara.com%2Fhome%23.V3xZrTVp0Uw|title:Francesca%20Azzara|”][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Paul Edward Pinkman” concept_job=”Painting” concept_image=”514″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/ppinkman” concept_instagram=”https://www.instagram.com/otzelotl/” concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinkmania.com|title:Paul%20Edward%20Pinkman|” concept_twitter=”https://twitter.com/PinkmanCreative”][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Gail Winbury” concept_job=”Painting” concept_image=”510″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/gail.winburypsyd” concept_instagram=”https://www.instagram.com/gwinburystudio/” concept_link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fgwinburyart.artspan.com%2Fhome%23.V3xbYTVp0Uw|title:Gail%20Winbury|”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Jane Caminos” concept_job=”Painting” concept_image=”509″ concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/Janehickeycaminos” concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.janecaminos.com%2F|title:Jane%20Caminos|” concept_linkedin=”https://www.linkedin.com/in/janecaminos”][concept_aboutme concept_name=”Heidi Sussman” concept_job=”Photo-Encaustic” concept_facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/heidi.sussman” concept_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.heidisussman.com%2F|title:Heidi%20Sussman|” concept_linkedin=”https://www.linkedin.com/in/heidi-sussman-b0866914″ concept_instagram=”https://www.instagram.com/heidisussman/” concept_image=”512″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][concept_headlines concept_title=”New Art Group timeline” concept_center=” text-left” concept_subtitle=”How we came to be…” css=”.vc_custom_1467768850116{margin-bottom: 55px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][concept_animations_container concept_type=”fadeInDown”][concept_timeline concept_heading=”01.” concept_title=”The Visual Arts Committee of the Watchung Arts Center” concept_date=”Fall 1990″]Originally founded by then director of Visual Arts programming, Larry Young, the group started out as a loosely structured gathering of artists who were interested in aiding the Watchung Arts Center’s burgeoning visual arts program. With a more purposeful vision for what the Center’s Visual Arts programming could be, the group membership was narrowed down and it was given a name, the New Art Group.
